30th was the last day of JUNE.

Apaprently, the shutdown date is actually around mid-July.
This is actually pretty common; lots of ISPs are walking away from Usenet,
for a variety of reasons.
Yes, there are plenty of free UseNet servers, which you can quickly find by
googling "free usenet servers".
However, performance is spotty, available groups are limited, and you may
well not be able to post. Expect to get what you pay for, or less than
what you paid for, from free servers.
3rd party Usenet services can be a much better choice, and decent service
can run you around $5/month (of course you can pay more...). Again, Google
can show you a number of providers, for example Supernews and Giganews.
