New American Standard Strat - Lee Waun - 6-:14 -0-09-20

Well next week is my 48th birthday and to celebrate or more likely try to
forget about this less than momentous occasion I bought the olympic white
strat with maple neck. I had it proffessionally set up like I always do and
had the tremolo set up. It works perfectly and goes back nicely without
causing the guitar to go out of tune when I do use it.

The neck is just so smooth and effortless to play. I don't find any sort of
hand fatigue setting in at all. I can just play it for hours and hours. And
i found this maple fretboard to be super fast. Much more so than the
rosewood model I was originally planning to get.

What took the longest with this guitar was setting the pickup levels. But
that is done now too.

Come my birthday I have a bottle of Tequila saved up for this day and plan
to play this guitar as well as my Guild.

Here is a pic of it while still at the store.

Congrats on your new guitar! That 1 is a beauty. It appears to have
the gun oil tint maple neck which i prefer ( as opposed to the plain
one) Hope you enjoy it.
Oh and happy birthdday to you . At 48 you are just a kids as opposed
to of us old farts around here :-)

Nice, and I'm not a Strat guy. Strats are one of the few guitars that
I like in white. Good luck.

yup it is the new series and the neck is tinted and also a gloss finish on
the fretboard but the back of the neck is satin so all in all a gorgeous and
fast neck.

this year. Can't fathom that.

Yup and it has sat on the table for 3 months unopened. I've had 3 limes go
bad and again I need another lime incase I finally open this bottle.

I normally don't like solid colours either but the white strat is very
Hendrixy if you know what I mean.

Suck that beer and type on, son. More of your stupidity awaits when you
open that bottle with -0- care about the next morning. You're an idiot.

I'm still trying to get to "love" my Deluxe Strat...I like the way it
sounds, but...

...what I'm finding with the Strat is that like picking up a Tele caused
me pain in my fingers, playing my Strat causes pain in my wrists. I'm
thinking I need to fool with my strap length...that went a long way to
curing the issue with the Tele - I ended up having to sling it lower
than I'd had it. For some reason I think I want the Strat slung higher
than I have my Tele...but that hurts. So I guess it's time to go the
opposite direction with it. Maybe.

But I'm getting the feeling more and more that I'm just plain NOT a
Strat guy...maybe after I've lived with it for a year.
