R.I.P., Mitch Mitchell - Nil - 17:22 12-11-08

Aw, shoot. There goes another part of musical history, and the last of
The Experience. Died of "natural causes" in Portland, Oregon.

Bummer. He was one of my main influences when I played drums and probably
the guy who made me want to play in the first place.

Barely is right. I saw the Cream reunion a couple of years ago, and
both he and Jack Bruce were clearly frail. Ginger is reported to have
bad arthritis, and Jack had just had a kidney transplant. Although I
enjoyed the show immensely, they weren't able to summon the energy and
aggressiveness they had in their youths.

Jack has bounced back somewhat, judging by his singing and playing on
the album he made this year with Robin Trower, "Seven Moons". Good
album.

But, sorry to see Mitch go. I don't understand why he didn't have a
more prominent career after Hendrix.

Death is freedom. Yet the the living bum out. When a child is born
(unless to a $$$ or powerful dynastic family), that's the time to bum out.

Go ahead, h8 truth.
