Haven't the time to listen long, but it does seem to be right in the
same category as Motley. I suppose they wanted something quite
similar, and in that respect this surely fits the bill. Sounds like
energetic, good rock.
Opinions vary a lot; I might not think these guys seem like the
greatest players and performers around, but for instance I'd listen to
this any day over stuff like guitarists in general like, i.e. Pink
Floyd, Santana, guitar heroes in general, Rush, Dream Theater etc.
stuff...this is much more pleasant and 'real' than those kind of bands
to me. But I still think those bands probably are way better musicians
than this. But it makes no difference to me. I'd rather listen to a
wino on a broken acoustic if he puts his heart into it, than prog
'rock'.
Just my 2...
Cheers,
Dee

Yikes, these are among my favorite bands ;-) Floyd and Rush right at the
top. Not so much into Santana except for his first couple of albums.

I've given Santana's latest work 3 listens. God it's awful. Blows.
He's set himself up as some whacked out spiritual guru...I've looked the
other way on his whole act as long as possible. Man, he's flipped. The
music's not good and it certainly doesn't impart anything "spiritual"
to me. I think the guy has drifted into the land of "among my people,
I'm the Emperor and I'm dressed fantabulously". Well Carlos, I guess I'm
too honest for my own good. That's one shitbird double CD.

mvm

They sound (to me ) like a 50 cent Ministry ( guitars and vocals
especially). I prefer the original

I think he's always been fringe or that way. There's really a lot of
recorded work to get into, and any body of significance can't avoid a
requisite appreciation of Latin modes. Same with the one-man greats
in blues guitarists, get into their background and there's going to be
a whole suitcase full of post WW2 delta grit. Was listening to some
acoustic material by Bush -- I think what I'm hearing classical
Moorish influences and flamenco. Forgot the specific song name...some
10-letter word beginning with C, but an interesting point to begin
with stylistic analysis of players and points direction surfaces.
Even that ZZ Top album Mescalero (?) has them singing in Spanish, one
of the weirdest sets for a blues inspired compilation I've *ever*
heard.

I was thinking more like early Marilyn Manson, but I can hear Minsitry in
there for sure too. It's ok, doesn't grab me but I could dig it live if it
was plenty loud.
