Should have known dealing with a kid should have raised a red flag.
He e-mailed me every ten minutes for 2 days peppering me with questions and
getting details.
Everything was set to meet this evening. Then nothing.
Never contacted me for directions or when to meet. I have e-mailed him back
several times and no response.
My last was, "Hey dude, if you've changed your mind or your parents won't
let you trade or WHATEVER. I don't care. Just don't leave me hanging". Still
nothing.
I'm not upset about the guitar. I wasn't all that excited to begin with.
But I'd thought I do a good deed and help a kid out who seemed to "really
really really" want an RC car but had no bucks. But to mess up my afternoon
and evening like that pisses me off. Unless he gets back to me with a damn
good excuse I'm gonna tell him forget about it just out of spite.

Sounds like your average Craigslist ending.
I had a guy that REALLY, REALLY wanted a new quad of Groove Tubes EL84
that came with an amp. He said that he built stompboxes. Well, so do
I, but I thought what the heck. He agreed to build me an original
circuit Guv'nor (parts and labor). SEVERAL E-mails later about this and
that, he asks what rating they were. Answers "that won't do because
they're for a hifi stereo amp. I responded "whatever, but you do know
that this rating puts them dead center, right on proper spec."
Many other flakes just disappear after contact. You figure they sold it
or changed their mind, but they never bother to say "sorry, sold" or
"changed my mind."

I have a love/hate relationship with craigslist. I've gotten insane deals on
there and have also been ripped off, blown off, and pissed off. I try to be
careful but it's inevitable.
"Well they can't fix your brakes, you ask em where's my motor? well it was
eaten by snakes".
