GFS pedals - Tony Done - 2-:07 -0-10-20

Just a heads up. GFS are now selling stomp boxes:

Anyone try one? The tube distortion looks interesting, I'd be tempted to try
one except they haven't got a 240v version.

Not crazy about the sound clips...

I wonder who makes the, or what they're based on.

I heard they were made by Biyang pedals in China, but modified. I
can't find their link right now, but all their pedals looked like the
same thing maybe with different paint....but eerily similar.

If that's the case, Biyang makes good stuff.

I saw that ... the price attracted me, but I need a pedal
like I need another < insert material object > .

I recall they came without a 9vdc (wallwart) plug so you can brew
your own.

Yeah, I'm trying to wean myself off pedals - more notes, less sounds. That
tube pedal runs on heavy duty 6vac, safety issues may be the reason he
won't export them with power source to non-110v countries.

I hadn't listened to the sound samples when I posted, but now I have I'm not
impressed with them. I like something either a lot more subtle or a lot more
saturated

But where's the fuzz? Biyang supposedly makes a killer fuzz pedal. Why
wouldn't GFS have that rebranded too?

You certainly have electronic stores down under ... sell wall warts ?
that is unless you live in the outback like Crocodile Dundee's
resort cabin living off Roo's and rabbits.

I was surprised not seeing one either. I'm guessing in time.

But...I did get this from that page a couple weeks ago:

http://store.guitarfetish.com/gfselcldituc.html

1/2 the price of comparable units, works like a charm. For some
reason I have a tuner fetish, I'm making it my mission to have a tuner
in every one of my guitar cases. Another good one:

A *real* poor one currently collecting dust:

A number of pedals with non-standard voltages are imported without a wall
wart, and I can easily get them locally. Maybe he doesn't want the hassle of
dispatching them without the power supply. This is how the others come, so
that you can't accidentally use it with a high voltage supply. Or maybe the
pedal itself doesn't meet Oz safety standards.

I did live in a Crocodile Dundee type environment for six years, and in fact
knew the person that the character was modeled on, Rod Ansell. - But that
was a long time ago. Roo is OK, but many Aussies won't eat rabbit on
principal.
