Urgent! Come on! Help out a fellow guitar player and usenet buddy! - Carl - 6-:30 -0-09-20

I have been playing the guitar since I was 14 in 1961. I had my bands, and
even my shot at recording. I love the guitar and still play today, some 48
years later. But I never parlayed my experiences into anything that went
very far, much as I would have liked to.

Now I have a son. He's 24 years old. He began playing the guitar only about
6 years ago. But he made a decision about one year ago to dedicate himself
to 'making it' as a singer/songwriter. And, to my pleasant surprise, he has
come a long, long way in just a very short time.

His band, The Narrative, has garnered attention from many places and has
always received highly praising reviews. Do a google search and see for
yourself. They even had two songs chosen for airplay on MTV:Brooklyn. This
band is deserving of a break.

As I write, they are in a neck to neck fight to the death against one other,
more widely known band for The Deli Magazine Band of the Month honor. There
is only about ONE hour left to go. And so this appeal. Please get over
there and vote. Do it now. One hour left, that's all.

So take this link, http://thedelimagazine.com/snacks.php, and click on the
little circle to the right of The Narrative, and help push this deserving
band just one little step forward to that elusive goal all the rest of us
are seeking.

Thank you for reading this. Thank you more for voting.

Hendryx didn't rely on internets to launch his career.

Nope, he didn't. But times were different then. Most bands promote
themselves in the independent (indie) underground. Different technologies,
different scales of economy, differenjt times.

Btw, Hendrix is not an appropriate analogy here. My son is a very good
guitar player and during the days he was self-teaching he was able to cop
licks and sounds from everyone from SRV, to Hendrix, to whomever. However,
if you listen to The Narrative's music, you'll not hear one iota of
guitar-centrism in it. He doesn't 'believe' in that approach, and instead
uses the guitar in more subtle ways. That's his choice. It's his music. It's
more rhythmically and lyrically driven. Take a listen.

But, there's not much time left, less than an hour. For right now, I need
you to VOTE! http://thedelimagazine.com/snacks.php

When you get a chance, listen to their stuff at

Don't tell me I voted for an SRV clone.

J'k guy.

Yup. Even a kid plays better than Phil Danzer, Nuclear Warrior's
guitarist. I play better than him. My son plays better than him. My
son's students, for fuck's sake, play better than him.

Phil hasn't been in a band since the 80s. No band, CDs, no tours, nothing.

Which is no surprise, given that the band was woeful, yet there remains
one idiot still trying to 'promote' an incompetent band that's been
defunct for 20 years.

And that idiot is you, Lifshine.
