Love the fuzztone solo! I knew the tune, but didn't realize that
Saxon played bass. And they were shamefully well dressed. Kind of
conflicts with the unkempt image I had of them, but yeah, their music
was kind of an early prototype of minimal grunge/punk. Saxon was an
appropriately grating/dissonant vocalist.
So many of those early icons haven't made much of an appearance since
their brief day in the sun back when. It seemed like they were locked
away in their segment of time, so it's odd to hear about their passing
away.

I had never heard of The Seeds till a few weeks ago when I saw a CL ad
looking to form and band the poster named this band as a major influence so
I YT'd them and this was the video that came up.
Sounds like a pioneering punk band to me.

I loved hearing "Pushin' Too Hard" pumping out of the AM radio when I
was a kid. I think The Seeds had one more lesser hit. One (-and-a-half)
hit wonders - a minor legacy, and they are a minor footnote in rock and
roll history. It was a great record, though!

Johnny Rivers was always a lot of fun. "Secret Agent Man" is a
classic. That repeated intro lick is good stuff. Less tracks seemed
to make better music. A lot of what I hear today is so, layered and
buried and distorted, that the tune doesn't have a chance to
"breathe" and flow It's hard to write a catchy 3- minute tune. Are
MP3's the new 45's?

Yeah unfortunately you can only squeeze so much audio together cleanly
into two tracks. Otherwise you have to compress the shit out of it
causing the audio to 'pump' at you. You might be surprised how much
space the audio track on a 5:1 DVD takes up. Depending on the content
it can be as much as 2 gigabytes for a 3.2.1 Dolby track and that
surely is compressed to leave enough space for the video. I was really
impressed with the difference in both audio and video when I watched
some movies on Blue Ray through my 3.2.1 home system.
