String cleaner recommendation? - markd - 6-:18 -0-09-20

I've used GHS Fast Fret over the years... and while it works ok, the
cleaner 'stick' material gets wadded up on the strings, and eventually
dries up.

MF looks to have several products available these days. Anyone care
to recommend something they're happy with (or even a 'home remedy'
they use instead)?

I use Dunlop Ultraglide 65.. and I can't tell if it's actually doing
anything.

But I use it :)

Before every playing session: Dunlop 65. Put on soft cloth. Grip 'n rip
each string. It'll squeak. Wipe the cloth on your fretting fingertips.
Rock out. :-) M

I sometimes use a little WD40 on a rag, wiping the strings dry
afterward and being careful to avoid getting it on the neck itself.

Anything like that will suck tone... I used a polish cloth
that left lint behind, completely killed the tone of the strings.

Finger-Ease is the industry standard... but you can get the
same thing at the hardware store, called silicone spray.

Never use anything containing silicone ANYWHERE on a guitar!

...and if someone asks what product is good for cleaning a guitar
finish, your answer would be 'new guitar'.
