Replace EL84s with EL34s - Renli - 6-:18 -0-09-20

I saw this: http://www.tubedepot.com/thd-yjs.html

and got a funny idea.

Can I replace my EL84s with EL34s? Is there an adapter?

Just curious because I have 4 el34s lying around and.. you know.

No. The sockets are different and EL34s use much more current than an
amp designed for EL84s can provide. You can, however, do it the other
way around with devices such as TAD's 'Yellow Jackets'. They allow an
amp to run EL84s cathode biased with no modifications.

Hey thanks - I got 100 on electronics in college, but I have mostly
given up on DIY stuff. I've got a kit for my blackheart for example
that i'm too lazy to finish (I upped the caps and a few other things
but I won't drill any holes, so..) so.. so.. if nothing exists i'll
just sell those el34s. Maybe I could trade em local for some el84s?
who knows.

You forgot to post the link to the 34s so the dipshit can actually see
the difference between 8 pins and 9 pins

On top of fabrication some sort of adapter... Like not enough current
available from the power transformer? Plate load and output
transformer? Bias circuit?

I think that there's more than a slight obstacle. But I've never really
considered doing this.

You are letting the details get in the way of the answer.
