Had to laugh (on topic) - SotR - 6-:17 -0-09-20

I have a (Korean) Epi '57 Korina re-issue Explorer on CL. I traded it for
an Ibanez acoustic bass that I hated. I didn't really want the guitar either
but it was still brand new. Has all factory stickers on it and every thing
along with the pick guard plastic sheet and plastic magnates over the pups.
Literally in store room condition. It was a definite trade-up so I did the
trade intending to re-sell.
I noted in my CL ad that I would consider trades for ? A guy just
contacted me and asked if I would trade for a beat up Esteban guitar and a
lizard. It was difficult responding to him and not sounding like a dick.
I'm still laughing.
But I guess it doesn't hurt to ask. I didn't list what I would trade for.

How about a pieceof French toast with the image of the Virgen Mary on it?
I'd even throw in a frog with "Hendrix Lives" tattooed on it. :-)

To be honest, I do think he was. He wrote me a couple of times prior to
his offer with some questions and obviously did not know a lot about
guitars. And I did mention in my ad that I was selling it because my focus
is acoustic guitar these days and the Epi just sits on the stand and never
gets played.
When I wrote him back I said "Dude. Sorry, but I already have 2 Martin's, a
Taylor and an Ovation. I really would not be interested in an Esteban
guitar".

I've had some interesting Cl adventures, but I must say. yesterday I
sold a little amp. Two kids came from about 60 miles away, were an
hour late...no problem I waited even though I was holding off someone
else cause I felt bad they were coming so far. Turned out to be two
really nice young men...bought my amp (did not even try to talk me
down in price-which was a mistake, they'll learn). They were just very
nice, had a nice talk with them, was showing them some of my guitars
and had some nice guitar talk. They re-instilled my sense that not all
kids are bad today...and they even had tattoos and face jewelery!

I guess the guy is serious about wanting my Epi. He just wrote back and
after scrounging up every penny he could find he is $25 short. I told him
yeah, that's cool.
